Hands-On Learning Experience

Walk in Firefighter Boots While Still in High School

  • Early Planning: Speak with your high school guidance counselor early to complete necessary general education requirements.
  • Program Start: Begins in the fall semester of your junior year.
  • Hands-On Training: Includes several all-day field trips with practical exercises (equipment and transportation provided).
  • Eligibility: Requires a minimum GPA of 2.8 (exceptions may be granted by principals).
  • Post-Graduation:
    • Complete a 40-hour course and pass state exams for firefighter certification.
    • Non-affiliated students may incur costs for the final class and equipment.
